Jeera Onion Rice

#Nice #Riceisnice #Weekendchallenge Jeera rice is a quick preparation of rice flavoured with cumin seeds. It is easy and can bd prepared in cooker.

Ingredient

Food ration :

Cooking time :

10 minutes
1 cups

Rice

1.5 cups

Water

1 tbsp

Ghee

as per requirement

Salt to taste

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash and Soak rice in water for 10 minutes.

* Step 2

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put bay leaf and 5 black pepper seeds, 4 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 bay leaf and saute for 30 seconds.

* Step 3

Add chopped onion and cook till golden. Add rice and saute for 30 seconds. Add salt and red chilli powder.

* Step 4

Add water and place the lid and cook for 2 whistles. Switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatically.

Open the lid and remove bay leaf and discard it..

Serve hot with rajma curry.
