Spicy Chana Masala

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash and Soak white chana for 4 hours in Water. Then transfer it in a pressure cooker. Add water and cook till 5 minutes after first whistle. Switch off the flame. Let pressure releases automatically.

Wash, chop and Grind tomatoes in a mixer to a smooth paste.

Heat oil in a wok. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add ginger, garlic and green chilli paste and saute for 30 seconds. Now add tomato puree and cook till oil leaves the sides. Now add all dry masale except chana masala and mix well and cook till oil leaves the sides.

* Step 4

Now add chana masala and kasuri methi and mix well. Transfer it in the pressure cooker in which chana is boiled. Mix well. Place the lid and cook for 5 minutes after first whistle. Switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatically.

Open the lid. Mix chopped coriander leaves and whole green chilli and mix.

Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves and salad with rice, puri or parantha.
