Cholia & Onion Pulao

#2021challenge #Onepotmeal Choliya pulao is a simple, easy and healthy pulao made from fresh green chickpeas or hara chana. Cholia pulao is a one-pot meal which can be prepared very easily and can be eaten as breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Ingredient

15 minutes
1 1/2 bowl

2 tbsp

desi ghee

1/2 tsp

cumin seeds

100 gm

paneer

to taste

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash and Soak rice in water for 10 minutes.

Wash, peel and chop onion. Wash and grate tomato and make a puree.

Wash chholiya and cut paneer in small cubes.

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add 6-8 black pepper seeds, 4 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 bay leaf and saute for 1 minute. Add chopped onion and saute till golden brown. Add grated tomato and cook till oil leaves the sides. Now add chholiya saute for 1 minute. Add paneer cubes and saute for 1 minute.

* Step 5

Now add salt, red chilli powder and biryani masala and mix well. Add rice and mix well.

* Step 6

Add water and place the lid and cook till 2 whistles. Switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatically.

Open the lid and remove bay leaf from it.

Serve hot with raita or chutney of your choice.
