#Masoor Dal is one of the most ancient dal. It has high nutritional value as it is a rich source of protein, fiber and minerals and has low-fat content. Masoor Dal is beneficial for the skin as it keeps the skin moisturized and healthy due to the presence of vitamin B.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash and Soak dal in water for 10 minutes. Transfer it in a pressure cooker. Add salt, turmeric powder and grated tomato and pressure cook till 2 whistles and switch off the flame. Let pressure releases automatically.
* Step 2
Heat oil in a wok. Add ginger and garlic and chilli paste. Saute for 30 seconds. Add chopped onion and cook till translucent and slightly pink.
* Step 3
Add chopped tomatoes and green chilli and saute till tomatoes turn mushy. Add dal and kasuri methi.
* Step 4
Cook it on low flame till 2-3 boil comes switch off the flame.
* Step 5
Heat oil in a wok. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add asafoetida and red chilli powder and saute for 1 minute. Pour this tempering on dal.
* Step 6
Serve hot with chapatti or rice garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
