Spaghetti alla pescatora povera. Poor fisherman's spaghetti

This is a dish from Procida, on a tiny island off the bay of Naples. What can you find here? Peppers, chillies, herbs and of course, plenty of fish. This dish is made with fresh anchovies, but you could also use sardines. Packed full of flavours, this colourful pasta is just wonderful #italian #pasta #spaghetti #fish

Ingredient

500 g

spaghetti

to taste

Fresh chillies

to taste

Salt

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Prep the pepper, tomatoes, garlic and chilli. For the anchovies, remove heads, then the interior and bones. Chop into small pieces. Bring pot of salted water to the boil. Cook pasta according to instructions

* Step 2

Fry garlic and chilli for 1-2 mins

Add peppers and cook on medium for 3-4 mins (leave a bit of crunch)

Add chopped tomatoes and cook for 2-3 mins

* Step 5

Add chopped anchovies, stir and cook for no more than 3 mins on medium heat

Add torn basil. Drain pasta al dente, add to sauce. Mix well. Remove garlic
