Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Firstly, pat dry the basa fish fillets with a kitchen towel. Prick the fish all over using a fork.
* Step 2
Combine all the ingredients mentioned above under “1st Marination” to coat the fillets. Ensure both sides are coated completely. First marination is done. Set it aside.
* Step 3
Now to prepare the second marination, first dry roast the chickpea flour and prepare the green chutney. In a blender combine all the ingredients mentioned above under “For Green Chutney” and blend with a tablespoon of water. Green chutney is ready.
* Step 4
In a mixing bowl combine all the ingredients mentioned above under “2nd Marination “.
* Step 6
The second marination is ready. Coat one side of the fillets with this marination. Sprinkle some freshly chopped coriander leaves. Press it so that it sticks to the marination on the fillets. Flip the fillets and repeat the process.
* Step 8
The marinated fillets are ready to be pan fried.
* Step 9
In a large non-stick pan heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Place the marinated fillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until cooked through. Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the fillets. Repeat the process for the remaining fillets.
* Step 11
Spicy Pan-Fried Basa Fish Fillets are ready. Garnish each fillet with some chaat masala, lemon juice and some freshly chopped coriander leaves. Serve it with onion and lemon slices. Enjoy it as a starter or as a side dish.
