Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Firstly, slit the onions. Then add turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, garam masala and salt. Mix it well so that the onions are coated with the spice powders. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes.
* Step 2
Assemble together all the necessary ingredients.
* Step 3
Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida and allow it to sizzle for few seconds.
* Step 4
Add the chopped onions and saute till the onions are translucent.
* Step 5
Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell leaves.
* Step 6
Next add the turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder and salt. Saute on low flame until the spices give out aroma.
* Step 7
Then add the tomato puree and cover and cook until oil appears at the surface.
* Step 8
Reduce the flame to low and add the whisked yogurt stirring continuously. Continue to cook till oil appears at the surface.
* Step 9
Now add water and mix it well. Water can be added as per desired consistency.
* Step 10
Add in the stuffed baby onions and mix it well.
* Step 11
Cover and cook on low flame for about 8-10 minutes or until the onions are cooked well.
* Step 12
Finally, add the kasuri methi and mix it well.
* Step 13
Delicious Stuffed Baby Onion Sabji/Curry is ready. Serve it with roti or paratha.
