This pulao is normally made on festive occasions like Durga puja,but this flavourful sweet rice can be made on other occasions also.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and add half crushed garam masala.When they splutter add the washed and dried rice.Add sugar and salt and 1 bay leaf.Add 2 cups water and saffron soaked milk.Add ginger paste and little turmeric.Pressure cook 2 whistles and open after 5 minutes.Garnish with roasted broken cashewnuts and raisins and toss lightly after 5 minutes.
* Step 2
The rice used may be substituted with Basmati rice and made in a non stick wok in low flame
