When I saw the Taufu topic, I remembered that @sasha_sabrina asked me to share how to cook Agedashi tofu over a year ago. She told me that itโ€™s available in the Japanese restaurant in Malaysia. So sorry for being this late but let me share my first version to cook it๐Ÿ˜‚ The authentic way is to make the dipping sauce from dashi, but this time I made with Mentsuyu sauce which is quicker to cook. Iโ€™ll share the authentic version too in the coming weeks!๐Ÿ˜Š

Ingredient

Food ration :

2 people (4 pieces in total)

Cooking time :

15 mins
50 cc

Mentsuyu

200 cc

Water

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Cut the tofu into four pieces and place on a tray. Remove excess water with a paper towel. Sprinkle potato starch and make sure all sides of tofu are coated with the starch.

* Step 2

Heat oil in a pan(2-3cm depth) and start frying tofu. Use tongs instead of chopsticks to roll the tofu and fry all sides. Itโ€™s also ok to deep fried them in a plenty of oil, but I prefer to use less oil not to waste the oil as well as to make the cleaning step easier!

* Step 3

Prepare the dipping sauce by adding Mentsuyu and water. Once the tofu turns light brown and crispy, remove from the pan and put them into the sauce. Add your favorite toppings and ready to eat!!
