Pakwan for Dal Pakwan

Dal pakwan is a popular Sindhi delicacy, that comprises of crispy papdi-like flatbread called pakwan, that gets accompanied with tempered chana dal, chopped onions, tomatoes and chillis, and green and tamarind chutney 😋

Ingredient

Food ration :

2 servings

Cooking time :

30 mins
1 cup

flour

1.5 tbsp

ghee

1/2 tsp

ajwain

2-3 tbsp

milk

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl and knead a firm dough. Leave it aside to rest for 5 mins.

* Step 2

One the dough has rested, roll out thin slices and poke them using a knife or fork. This will ensure that the pakwan doesn't puff from the centre like a puri.

Deep fry the pakwan in medium hot oil for 3-4 mins till crisp.

* Step 4

Take out the golden brown pakwan and place on a kitchen towel to absorb all the excess oil.

Serve pakwan with tempered chana dal, chutney and chopped onions and tomatoes.
