Rava Carrot Uttappam / South Indian Style Grilled Semolina Pancakes Topped With Carrots

A healthy anddeliciously thick pancake made from semolina batter and topped with shredded carrots.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a medium bowl, add rava, curd, and salt. Mix well adding little water as needed to form a thick batter (slightly thicker than dosa batter). Keep it aside for 10-15 mins. Heat a nonstick skillet or cast iron tawa. Grease the tawa with butter. Pour a ladleful of the batter on the hot tawa and spread it in circular motion, a bit thick in size.

* Step 2

Drizzle some butter on the top and sides of the uttapam and cook on medium flame. Once the dosa starts to form holes on the top, sprinkle the grated carrots all over the dosa. Once the base of the uttapam turns golden, gently flip it over and cook the other sides for 1-2 mins. Drizzle some butter on the sides of the dosa. Remove from flame and serve hot with coconut chutney or Sambhar.
