Caramel kheer

Caramel kheer is a delightful Pakistani dessert that combines creamy rice pudding with a rich caramel twist. It is typically made by boiling milk, sugar or jaggery, and rice and garnished with different nuts.

Ingredient

Food ration :

6-8 servings

Cooking time :

45 minutes
1/4 cup

ground rice

1/2 cup

sugar

2 tbsp.

water

3 tbsp.

milk powder

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Pour 4 cups of milk in a pan along with cardamom powder and some nuts.

* Step 2

Bring to a boil, scrapping the sides down. Cook till reduced to half.

* Step 3

Dissolve milk powder with reserved milk and add to the kheer. Mix well.

* Step 4

In a pan add sugar with water and caramelize the sugar, swirling the pan.

* Step 5

Add the caramel to the kheer and mix. Cook to desired thickness.

* Step 6

Serve garnished with caramel chunks and reserved nuts.
