Wishing all in my Cookpad family a very happy Deepavali 🪔🪔🎇🎇 This Diwali, try out this homemade dessert famous in Mithai shops. It's very very easy to make and too yummy to stop at one bite. It's rich in protein, iron, calcium, magnesium and vitamin B complex as it has milk, dry fruits, whole wheat bread and milk solids. Ingredient

25 to 30 minutes
1 tablespoon

ghee

1/2 cup

milk powder

1/2 cup

milk

1/2 cup

sugar

1/2 pinch

saffron threads

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

First, take a heavy based non-stick kadai, add ghee and heat it. Add cardamom powder, mil cream, and stir well.

Then dissolve milk powder in milk with a whisk. Break all lumps. Then add to the pan along with breadcrumbs.

Stir cook for 10 minutes on low flame till it starts  Then add sugar, saffron and cook for next 10 to 15 minutes till the mixture leaves pan. Switch off the heat when it forms a dough and does not stick

Then grease a plate with ghee. Pour mixture and cool to warm. Then knead well till smooth.

Then divide in 3 parts. Keep one part smallest and without colour. Make the second part bigger than plain and  chopped cashews and orange food colour. Mix well. Keep the third part largest and add chopped pistachios and green food colour to it. Mix well. Cover and chill all three in refrigerator for 1 hour.

Make a long roll of plain part. Then roll out the orange part and cover the plain roll with it from all sides. Now you have an orange roll Then roll out the green part into a thick disk and cover the orange roll with green disk. Make into a thick long green roll.

Wrap well from all sides with food wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour. Then take out, remove wrap, press silver warq from all sides and cut into thick slices. Serve cold. You will love this delicious mithai. Enjoy! 🎇🪔
