Dhirde (धिरडे)

Dhirde means Pancakes in Marathi. It's a traditional recipe which is prepared by mixing chickpea flour with rice flour, wheat flour and spices. Add in some finely chopped vegetables or pureed veggies to make it extra healthy. Ingredient

Food ration :

3 to 4 servings

Cooking time :

20 minutes
1/2 cup

Rice flour

1/2 cup

Wheat flour

As per taste

Chilli powder

As per taste

turmeric powder

As per taste

Salt and sugar

1/4 tsp

Hing

1/4 tsp

Ajwain

1/2 cup

Curd

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

First, mix all the ingredients in a deep bowl. Mix well with a whisk. Rest the batter for 10 to 15 minutes.

* Step 2

Then heat a skillet and pour laddlefulls of batter. Spread it in round shape and pour 1 tsp oil on sides

* Step 3

Cover and cook on both sides by flipping once the base side is golden. Make all the Dhirde/ pancakes similarly.

* Step 4

Serve hot with spiced yoghurt, Raitha, chutney of choice, pickle or plain old ketchup. Enjoy this delicious and healthy treat!
