Tamilnadu Style Thakkali Sadam / Tomato Rice
Thakkali Sadam or tomato rice is a delicious and easy one pot meal rice dish from authentic Tamil and Kannada cuisine when you want to cook a quick and tasty meal. Serve it with yoghurt raita and wafers and you are sure to get many compliments.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
First, heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add mustard seeds. When they pop up, add the whole spices. Then add hing curry leaves, onions, ginger garlic paste and fry well.
* Step 2
Then add the tomatoes, spices and cook well. Then add the soaked and drained rice and saute well.
* Step 3
Now add 1.5 cups water, close the lid and add weight. Cook till 1 to 2 whistles. Remove after pressure settles down.
* Step 4
Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan. Add 1 tsp mustard, 1/4 th tsp hing, 1red chilli, and pour the tadka on the rice. Serve hot with boondi or mixture and curd raitha. Enjoy yummy Thakkali Sadam.
