Watermelon Peels Curry with Steamed Rice

They are rich in water, vitamins and minerals. Also watermelon boosts immunity and gives internal protection against diseases like cancer. I would like to spread awareness about early screening of breast cancer through this recipe.

Ingredient

Food ration :

2 to 3 servings

Cooking time :

30 minutes
1 tablespoon

Ginger garlic paste

1 tsp

Jeera

1 tablespoon

Oil

1 tablespoon

Lemon juice

2.5 cups

Water

1 tablespoon

Ghee

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

First, wash and cut the slices of watermelon Peels into cubes.

* Step 2

Heat a pan. Add oil and splutter mustard and cumin seeds. Add ginger garlic paste and saute well.

* Step 3

Then fry chpped onion and garlic for a minute. When it turns aromatic, add the tomatoes and keep stirring till cooked well. Add watermelon juice as needed.

* Step 4

Add the spices and salt and cook till a thick gravy is formed. Cool and blend it to smooth paste

* Step 5

Now, steam the watermelon peels till soft. Then heat a pan and add oil.

* Step 6

Saute the watermelon for 2 minutes. Then add the blended gravy, watermelon juice. Adjust the seasonings and cook well. Add lemon juice, kitchen king masala and garnish with chopped coriander leaves..

* Step 7

Side by side steam cook the rice with mentioned ingredients. Add salt and ghee for added flavour.

* Step 8

Do not make the rice mushy or oversoft. Keep it fluffy. Serve this delicious combination on any rainy day and enjoy the wonderful flavours!
