This is a Savory South Indian dish made with rice & moong dal , tempered with desi ghee , Rai , hing , zeera sabit kali mirch , kaju , roasted peanuts, grated ginger , dry red chilli & curry patta . This delicious dish is offered to God during festivals..

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Take a pan, dry roast moong dal for 5 minutes.
* Step 2
Now take a mixing bowl, add rice & dry roasted dal, mix it well. Wash it, keep aside.
* Step 3
Take a pressure cooker, add rice dal mix. In goes salt, haldi powder, green chilli & ghee.
* Step 4
In goes 6 cup water, mix it well. Place the lid, give 5 whistles on high flame. Turn off the flame, allow it to depressurise naturally.
* Step 5
Open the lid, add boiled water accordingly if required, mix it well. Cook it for a minute. The consistency of the Pongal should be a lil thin. Turn off the flame. Keep it.
* Step 6
Take a pan, add ghee, heat it. Add Rai, hing, zeera & kali mirch, let it splutter.
* Step 7
Now add kaju, peanuts & ginger, saute it for 30 sec.
* Step 8
In goes dry red chilli & curry patta. Cook it for 30 sec.
* Step 9
Turn off the flame, transfer the tadka into Pongal. Mix it well.
* Step 10
Can be served along with coconut chutney or any other chutney...
