Holi special Puran poli

#Holi2022 #cookpadindia #cookpad Puran Poli is an authentic traditional Maharashtrian recipe. It is a sweet Indian flatbread specially made for holi festival. The stuffing of poli is made with chala dal and jiggery. Though a bit tedious and time-consuming recipe, worth trying as end result is just amazing. Let’s make Puran Poli today.

Ingredient

Food ration :

6 serving

Cooking time :

30 minutes
1 1/4 cups

Water

to taste

Salt

3 tsp

Oil

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

For Puran:

* Step 2

Transfer the dal with water in the cooker and cook on medium heat until 3 whistles.

* Step 3

Drain excess water with the help of a strainer.

* Step 4

Do not throw away this water. You can use it to make katachi amti. Add a little mashed dal with it if you want.

* Step 5

Transfer the dal into a microwave-safe bowl and add grated gudh. Mix well. Microwave puran for just 2 minutes. After 2 minutes take the bowl out and mix puran well.

* Step 6

Microwave Puran again for 3 more minutes. Take out and mix well again. Microwave it again for 3 minutes. Though it looks a bit thin, it will thicken up as it will cool down.

* Step 7

Add nutmeg powder and mix well. Puran is already.

* Step 8

You can cook Puran on gas too. Mix mashed dal and jaggery and cook on medium heat.

For Dough:

You can change the proportion of wheat flour and maida according to your taste. Mix well.

* Step 11

Add a little water at a time and make a soft dough of it.

* Step 12

Add oil and knead the dough again.

* Step 13

Transfer the dough into a bowl, cover, and give it a standing time of at least 1-1 1/2 hours.

* Step 14

Stuff ouran in pari and seal it from all sides.

* Step 15

Flip over and spread a little ghee.

* Step 16

Puran Poli is already. Serve with lots of ghee.
