Paalak Biryani/Spinach Biryani

Ingredient

ghee

as required

Few cashews fried

as per taste

Salt

as required

Turmeric powder

as required

Garam Masala

kewra water

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan. Add jeera and mustard seeds to crackle. Add hing. Then add the grinded onion-tomato mixture.

* Step 2

Let it cook on medium flame till it cooks. It will take around 10 minutes. Add salt, turmeric powder and garam masala. Give a good mix.

* Step 3

Add in pureed spinach and mix.Add in par cooked rice, mix. Off the flame. Now heat a nonstick skillet on otherside. Then reduce the flame to low and keep the pan containing rice over it. Cover it with a lid and let it cook for 10 more minutes so that rice gets cooked completely(as done in dum biryani)

* Step 4

Off the flame, sprinkle kewra water and add fried cashews. Serve hot

* Step 5

Fried onions are also added but I didn't add today.. No khada masala added... Garam masala has all khada masala freshly dry roasted and grinded
