Gulab jamun

Dear Gulab jamun,

Ingredient

125 gms

khoya

2.5 tbsp

maida

2-4 tbsp

milk

For frying

Ghee

Pinch

Cardamom

1.5 cup

sugar

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Add sugar and water in a deep bottom pan and let it boil to make sugar syrup of one string consistency. Add saffron strands and cardamom powder. Check the consistency of syrup with your finger tips. Remove from flame and then add lemon juice.

Add khoya, maida, cardamom powder and baking powder in a bowl. Mix them together. Knead a soft crack free dough by gradually adding milk

Divide dough into 16 parts and roll into balls between palms

* Step 4

Add ghee to the pan. Heat up. When the heat is adequate check with a piece of dough

* Step 5

Deep fry all balls at low flame till golden brown. Soak the gulab jamuns in syrup for around 20-30 minutes and then enjoy hot or with vanilla ice cream
