Dal Makhani

Dal makhani is one of the most popular lentil recipes from North India.

Ingredient

rajma

3-4 tbsp

butter

2 tbsp

cream

2 tbsp

ghee

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash the dal by scrubbing nicely with your palm. Wash 3-4 times.

Soak the dal and rajma overnight. Boil the dal in a pressure cooker for 5-6 whistles on low flame or until it is fully cooked. Switch off the flame.

Now take a pan heat 2 tbsp of ghee. Add ginger-garlic paste. Saute for two minutes. Add tomato paste. Cook for 3-4 minutes. Add coriander powder, salt, red chili powder, and garam masala powder. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Now add boiled dal to the pan and mix well. Cook on low flame. Add butter. Add Kasuri methi. Cook for 15-20 minutes. Mash the dal. Add water and boil again. Cook for 4-5 minutes. Add cream. Serve with rice or chapati.
