An authentic South Indian recipe, Rasam is a flavourful dish ideally served before main course. Made with tomato, curry leaves and asafoetida powder, it is an ideal appetizer recipe.
Super easy yet very tasty recipe. Rasam means juice in telegu.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Grind the masala to make rasam powder.
* Step 2
Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chopped garlic, curry leaves,hing let it crackle and become crisp then add chopped tomatoes.
* Step 3
Now add turmeric powder and salt and allow the tomato to get soft.
* Step 4
Then add the rasam powder. Finally, add a glass of water and let it boil vigorously. At last add jaggery and tamarind pulp. And allow to boil for 3-4 mins.
* Step 5
Finally add coriander leaves and serve.
