Mac and cheese sauce
#GlobalApron 24 week 6 /cheddar cheese. This is a quick stovetop recipe for 8-12 ounces cooked pasta. Use a quality cheese for best success and taste. I used a generic block of cheese once, shredded it but it would not melt correctly. It turned out grainy. Lesson learned.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
In a medium size saucepan melt butter over medium heat.
* Step 2
Stir in flour and cook until golden brown in color 5-7 minutes.
* Step 3
Add milk slowly while stirring. Cook until smooth and bubbly 8-10 minutes.
* Step 4
Stir in cheddar cheese and heat until melted.
* Step 5
Pour sauce over cooked pasta, stir to coat.
* Step 6
Add salt and pepper to taste.
