Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Pressure cook the soaked dal along with turmeric powder and water up to 2whistles on high and cook on low heat for 5minutes

* Step 2

Heat oil in a small pan once it turns hot add cumin seeds,hing, ginger, green chilli and curry leaves and saute for few seconds if using tamatos add it and allow to cook for 5minutes

* Step 3

Add red chilli, amchoor, garam masala,salt and jaggery and mix well add this mixture to.cooked daland simmer on.low medium heat for few minutes

* Step 4

Remove the dal to a serving dish garnish with fresh corrinder leaves and onions drizzle some green chutney, sweet chutney over it and serve with pakwan

* Step 5

To make pakwan - In a bowl add whole wheat flour,maida,sooji,salt ajwain and.mix well slowly add water to make a firm dough it should not be too soft make small balls of the dough dust the working surface and roll into a circle

* Step 6

Make fork impression all over the rolled out circles so that it does not puff up while being deep fried in hot oil

* Step 7

Serve the pakwan with Chanadal
