Spicy oven Carrot chips

Is a Recipe I have made up - through trial and error I finally got it right - did use too much Sea Salt,hence I served with loads of white boiled rice,also served the dish with my homemade Turmeric Onion Bhaji's and my homemade Garlic Mayonnaise (shop bought Mayonnaise with garlic I blitzed in).My first mistake was putting 300g of peeled chipped carrots on a too large Baking Tray and for baking in a very hot oven for a hour or more - most of the carrots got burnt - the carrots were too salty too eat on their own.My dinner in the main Photo was very filling too eat - did have leftovers of rice and carrots and put it in a Plastic Container with Lid and stored it in a very cold Fridge for another day of eating it - could have put it in the Freezer.Could serve 2 People,but would have too make extra onion bhaji's - needs Mayonnaise etc. because the meal would be very dry otherwise.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Peel and wash carrots,chop into average sized chips.Place 300g of raw carrot chips in One Fridge and Freezer Plastic Bag and place the other 300g in the other bag.Place half of a measurement of tablespoon of Sea Salt in each bag (I added a tablespoon in each) - then add the teaspoon of Medium Ground Black Pepper to each bag.Add 1 teaspoon of Ground Cumin to each bag and so on - until all the Ground Spices have been added.Then add 4 tbsp. of Oil to each bag.Store in Fridge.

Preheat oven to Gas Mark 7.Transfer marinated raw carrot chips to a baking tray and bake for 40 minutes.

Place cold water in a medium sized saucepan,heat the water up on the stove - place the raw white rice in a rice sieve and then rinse quite a few times under the cold water tap - add too the saucepan of water and keep boiling away until the rice has absorbed all the water,once done turn the hob off and place the saucepan lid over the top.

* Step 4

Preheat the Electric Deep Fat Fryer to the 140 Mark and then crack 2 hen eggs into a large mixing bowl and then use a Dinner Fork to whisk the eggs together and then add some Turmeric an milk - add some Plain Flour whilst still keeping a runny Pancake Batter mix,add salt to season and then add the chopped onions.Add Plain Flour to a Dinner Plate - add 2 heaped Dessert Spoons of the Batter mix,sprinkle Plain Flour over the top - use hand to form into a ball and eventually add 3 bhaji balls.

* Step 5

Deep fry at the 140 mark for about 5 minutes when all the bhaji's are in the Electric Deep Fat Fryer and then turn up to 180 - and then deep fry for about 3 or 4 minutes - use a round slotted spoon too scoop the bhaji's out of the Deep Fat Fryer and place on Kitchen Roll to absorb some of the Vegetable Oil off of the bhaji's.Serve bhaji's on their own plate with some mayonnaise and maybe serve your cooked rice and carrots in a saucepan.Enjoy.
