Fried Bread (Croutons)

Can shallow fry,but I deep fried the bread.Croutons are usually very small diced squares - deep frying or shallow frying in Olive Oil is a healthier choice,but Olive Oil is high in calories - I deep fried the small squares of shop bought sliced bread in Vegetable Oil and patted the crisp fried bread's with Kitchen Roll too absorb some of the hot Vegetable Oil.Croutons are left for quite some time and are not reheated - they are served cold.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Put the Electric Deep Fat Fryer on,or Cooking Oil in a large saucepan,get Cooking Oil very hot too 180 something,or put a cube of bread in hot Cooking Oil too see if it is hot enough and crisp's up the cube of bread.

* Step 2

Cut a cross through the middle of a slice of bread too form 4 small squares and then pop in 3 or 2 squares in a mini Electric Deep Fat Fryer and hold down with the metal basket for 1 minute on the One side and then turn over - and deep fry the other side for 1 minute also,with the metal basket holding the bread down - and then turn - an deep fry for a further 30 seconds using the metal basket too weigh the sliced bread down again.

* Step 3

Place on Kitchen Roll,allow too cool,or serve hot with a fried breakfast.Or serve cold with a dressed Salad.
