Jaggery sweet rice πŸšπŸŒΉπŸ‚

A gluten free rice dish but if you like to make vegan, just omit ghee and use oil. This recipe comes from Punjabi Cuisine, It is traditional Punjabi sweet rice made with jaggery and spices. Course: main course, Diet : gluten free, vegetarian, Cuisine: Punjabi cuisine, nutrients value: protein, calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin B6, B12.

3/4-1 cup

basmati rice

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Boil basmati rice 🍚 till 70% and keep aside.

* Step 2

Heat ghee/ vegetable oil, add bay leaf πŸ‚, cloves cook for 1 min, add chopped jaggery and mix well, cook on low medium flame (don't over cook it), when jaggery is melted, add boiled rice 🍚 in and mix well, cook until water from jaggery is dried out. add cardamom powder and mix well.

* Step 3

Chop dry fruits (cashew nuts, almonds) and Fry till golden, lastly fry black raisins and keep aside, when rice is ready, mix in the fried nuts & raisins and serve with hot πŸ₯› milk. Garnish with dry rose petals 🌹.
