Oven Baked Tonkatsu (Pork Cutlets)
The deep-fried pork cutlet coated with 'Panko' breadcrumbs is called ‘Tonkatsu’ in Japanese. These days, for health benefits, more and more people cook them in the oven rather than deep-fry. It is much easier and I love this method.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Preheat the oven to 220°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper or lightly oil.
* Step 2
If you prefer, cut the Pork Steaks into bite size pieces. Sprinkle some Salt and Pepper over and coat with Flour. Then dip them in beaten Egg and finally coat with 'Panko' Breadcrumbs.
* Step 3
Place on the tray, spray oil lightly and bake for 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the pork, or until cooked.
