Lagana 3

A lagana (traditional flat bread with sesame seeds made especially for Clean Monday) that is very easy to make and is like store bought.

Ingredient

Food ration :

2 laganas
1 packet

dry yeast

2 1/2-3 cups

tepid water

1 tsp

salt

2 tsp

sugar

1 handful

sesame seeds

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Place your ingredients in a bowl or in a stand mixer and knead until you have a soft dough that doesn't stick to your hands.

* Step 2

Set aside covered for about 1 hour to double in volume.

* Step 3

Divide it into 2 balls and press them with a rolling pin on a surface dusted with flour into a pita bread of about 1 cm thick.

* Step 4

Place them in a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper and set them aside for a while to rise.

* Step 5

When they are ready make imprints with your fingers thoughout the surface, sprinkle with a little water and then the sesame seeds.

* Step 6

Bake at 200°C for about 20' depending on your oven.

* Step 7

As soon as you remove them from the oven place them on a cooling rack.
