Cornmeal Porridge

Cornmeal Porridge

Ready in about 15 minutes this hot porridge is great for breakfast or as a side dish. Can be sweet or salty.

Ingredient

Food ration :

4 People

Cooking time :

10 minutes
1 cup

cornmeal

2 cups

water

13.5 fl oz

can Coconut milk

1/2-1 tsp

salt (to taste)

1/4 tsp

nutmeg

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a saucepan combine cornmeal, water, coconut milk, cinnamon stick and salt

* Step 2

Whisk over medium heat until thickened. (10 minutes)

* Step 3

Stir in vanilla extract, nutmeg and agave syrup

* Step 4

Remove from heat. Serve in bowl.

* Step 5

Some people like it sweet served with fruit. Some like it more salty so you leave out the cinnamon, nutmeg and agave syrup. Bump up the salt to taste and serve with brown butter on top.
