Had these every year at Christmas for over 65 years! Melts in your mouth! My wife just made a batch today, yumm!

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a mixer, cream the Cream Cheese and Butter until fluffy.

* Step 2

Add the salt and vanilla and blend in.

* Step 3

Stir in the flour until mixed.

* Step 4

Remove and form into a 5x5" square and wrap in plastic wrap.

* Step 5

Put the dough in a refrigerator for an hour or two or overnight.

* Step 6

Preheat the oven to 350f.

* Step 7

Remove from the refrigerator and roll out the dough to about 1/4" thick.

* Step 8

With a 2" glass or cookie cutter, lightly push down on the dough. Do not twist. Then remove, put on a cookie sheet and push lightly in the center with your thumb to indent for the filling.
