Vavo's Asian Pork Belly

Just kinda came together when I wanted crispy pork belly and wanted it fast without firing up the oven!

Ingredient

Food ration :

4 people

Cooking time :

30 min
1 pound

pork belly

2 cups

water

1 cup

honey

1/4 cup

soy sauce

3 cloves

garlic, minced

1/2 tsp

sesame oil

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Add sushi rice to medium sauce pan, cover with 2 cups water

* Step 2

Bring to boil, simmer on low for 20 min

* Step 3

Add pork belly to a hot skillet, cook on high for 5 minutes, turning constantly

* Step 4

Reduce heat to medium and cook, turning until crispy, about another 7 minutes

* Step 5

Drain excess fat and spread pork belly pieces evenly in skliiet, sprinkle with half the brown sugar while hot

* Step 6

Stir half of the Wasabi Furikake into rice and plate using 1/2 cup or ice ream scoop for balling, Garnish each serving with remaining Wasabi furikake

* Step 7

In a small sauce pan, add honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, green onion, sesame seeds, ginger and remaining brown sugar, bring to a boil

* Step 8

Reduce heat to simmer for 5 minutes until thickened slightly

* Step 9

Add pork belly to plate, Garnish as desired, drizzle reduction sauce over everything
