It's a popular drink that's a Sunnah for us all Muslims. Our esteemed Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Aalehi Wa Sallam) used to enjoy it and thus it automatically becomes an excellent option for us. An amazing drink that's healthy and nutritious. It's an excellent source of dietary Fibre. It's a nutrient powerhouse that cuts on Cholesterol, reduces the risk of Heart diseases, has anti cancer properties, lowers BP, aids in weight loss and good for Urinary tract infections. It can be safely used even for Children suffering from UTI.
The best time to have it is in the morning on an empty stomach. Take it once until the condition subsides. It's an absolutely amazing drink for all.
As it contains gluten, anyone who has Wheat allergy or intolerance can avoid it. By far and large, it is very safe for all including the Children. Barley has important Minerals like Magnesium, Manganese and Selenium too. Barley water has an antioxidant called Ferulic Acid that can protect our cells from Cancer causing damage and prevents tumors. All in all, an excellent source that's natural with all the goodness of various Minerals, Fibre and Antioxidants.
Make it an habit. Have it on an alternate day basis. It will work wonders for our bodies.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash and rinse the Seeds thoroughly well. Now soak them in clean drinking water as required overnight for best results.
* Step 2
Next day morning, add it to a pan with 2 more cups of water and bring it to a rolling boil on a high heat at first. Then lower the heat and simmer for the next 20-25 minutes. It becomes thick and mushy. The liquid looks clear and shiny.
* Step 3
Fill up two glasses. Enjoy it. It is best enjoyed plain but can be relished with Honey, Lemon juice or even Sugar if desired. Yum!
