soy sauce

1 teaspoon

peppercorns

2 tablespoons

brown sugar

1/3 cup

vinegar

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a large bowl, combine beef, garlic, onion, bay leaves (If using) peppercorns, brown sugar, and soy sauce. Marinate for an hour or overnight in the fridge.

* Step 2

Place beef in large pot or wok and pour water then simmer on a low heat for 40 minutes or until beef is tender.

Pour vinegar and simmer for another 5 minutes then season with salt and sugar according to taste.

* Step 4

Cook until the sauce is almost absorbed and start to render oil.

Transfer to a serving plate then serve with white rice.
