Hyderabadi Ande Ki Tahari

This one basically is a pulao from the City of Nawabs- Hyderabad. One pot meal with Meat and Potatoes makes it a favourite of many Hydis. However, in this one, there is a slight variation which is also related to Hyderabad. This particular one is with Eggs. Try this gorgeous tahari with your family and friends. Eggs cooked in tangy yoghurt gravy along with Tomatoes and Green Peas makes it a most delectable one pot meal. Instead of Meat and Potatoes, this variation with Eggs too is absolutely a delicious treat for the whole family. You will love it for sure. And once in a while, it's absolutely necessary to beat the routine meals. It's very much similar to Egg Pulao or even an Egg Biryani. Happy Hyderabadi Cooking with Zee!

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Soak rice for 30 minutes or little more than that. Use clean drinking water for doing so. In a big cooking pot, heat Oil and add all the whole spices. Meanwhile boil Eggs and make 3-4 cuts on it from all the sides. Set aside.

* Step 2

Now add the Onions and saute until translucent. Also add boiled Eggs to it. Saute them until a bit crisp on the outside. Take them out onto a plate. Set aside until use. Next add, the chopped Tomatoes and the spices one by one. Cover and cook until they are mushy and soft. Also add the beaten Curd as well as the Green Peas. Saute until the raw smell fades away. If you wish, you can also add deep fried Potato chunks. However in this variation, it's optional.

* Step 3

Add hot water according to the amount of Rice taken. So follow it accordingly. And also take note of Rice being soaked before use. Bring it to a rolling boil on a high heat. That's it. Add the soaked and drained Rice to the boiling water. Mix well. Adjust Salt at this stage. Garnish with chopped Coriander Leaves too. Cook on a high heat at first for about 5 minutes. Then lower the heat and cover with a lid.

* Step 4

In between, keep checking and stir very carefully without breaking the grains. After almost 20 minutes, it will be done. Fluff it up. Place Eggs on top. Cover and let it heat up for about 5-6 minutes before taking it off the heat. Enjoy with any of your favourite Raita and Salad. Yum!
