Badam-Makhhana Kheer(calcium rich)

#cr Week 2 Calcium is an essential nutritive element required for good bone health. Here, I have made Calcium-rich kheer using milk, almonds and makhhana . This kheer can be served hot or chilled.

Ingredient

20 minutes
1 litre

milk

1 cup

makhana

3 tbsp

sugar

10-12 strands

saffron

1 tsp

ghee

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash and soak almonds overnight. Peel them. Soak kesar in warm milk. Keep aside.

* Step 2

In 1 tsp ghee roast the makhhana until crisp on slow gas. These shrink on getting roasted. Do not burn the makhhana. Cool on a plate. Heat milk and bring it to a boil.

Meanwhile, make a powder of the peeled almonds and 1/4 cup of roasted makhhana in a mixer jar. Add this powder into the boiling milk. Stir and boil the milk.

When the milk has reduced to 70% quantity, add in the roasted makhhana. Add in the kesar and sugar. Mix and cook a while until the desired consistency of the kheer is reached.

Lastly, add in chopped badam-pista. Your delicious Calcium-rich Badam-Makhhana kneer is ready to serve.
