Vegetable Broken Wheat khichdi

Khichdi recipe made with rice, dal and spices is a super comforting one pot Indian meal. Dal khichdi is delicious, nourishing and healthy.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash and soak broken wheat and moong dal separately for 10 minutes.
* Step 2
Peel wash and chop potato, onion and tomato. Wash peas.
* Step 3
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds, when they splutter add dal and broken wheat.
* Step 4
Saute for 5 minutes till aromatic.
* Step 5
Add chopped vegetables, salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix well.
* Step 6
Saute for 2 -3 minutes while stirring. Add water and close the lid and pressure cook till 3 whistles. Let pressure release automatically.
* Step 7
Serve hot with raita and salad garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
