Dhuli Moong Dal Tadka

#boxweek16 #Moong Dal Moong lentils are highly nutritious and easy to digest. They are light on the stomach if cooked in a simple & minimal way. It is an excellent food for small kids and old people. It balances Pitta, vata and kaffa.

Ingredient

water

as per taste

Salt

2 tbsp

cooking oil

1 tsp

pure ghee

1/2 tsp

cumin seeds

1/4 tsp

garam masala

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash dhuli moong dal 2-3 times in running water. Transfer it in pressure cooker. Add water, salt and turmeric powder and pressure cook till 2 whistles.

Switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatically.

Heat cooking oil in a wok. Add chopped onion and saute till pink. Add grated ginger and saute for 1 minute. Add chopped tomatoes, green chilli, red chilli powder. Saute till oil leaves the sides.

* Step 4

Transfer cooked dal in this wok and let a boil comes. Add kasuri methi and mix well.

* Step 5

Now in a tadka pan add ghee. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add red chilli powder and garam masala and then switch off the flame.

Add this tempering to dal. Serve hot with chapatti or rice garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
