Moong lentils are highly nutritious and easy to digest. They are light on the stomach if cooked in a simple & minimal way. It is an excellent food for small kids and old people. It balances Pitta, vata and kaffa.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash dhuli moong dal 2-3 times in running water. Transfer it in pressure cooker. Add water, salt and turmeric powder and pressure cook till 2 whistles.
* Step 2
Switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatically.
* Step 3
Heat cooking oil in a wok. Add chopped onion and saute till pink. Add grated ginger and saute for 1 minute. Add chopped tomatoes, green chilli, red chilli powder. Saute till oil leaves the sides.
* Step 4
Transfer cooked dal in this wok and let a boil comes. Add kasuri methi and mix well.
* Step 5
Now in a tadka pan add ghee. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add red chilli powder and garam masala and then switch off the flame.
* Step 6
Add this tempering to dal. Serve hot with chapatti or rice garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
