Carrot & Turnip Pickle

#pickles Indians love pickles of all kinds be it vegetarian or non vegetarian. In winter root vegetables has its own taste and a pickle of root vegetables is ideal to enjoy with any kind of main meal. I made with carrot and turnip and both are root vegetables

Ingredient

Preparation time-10 mins, Cooking time-20 mins
as per taste

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash and peel the carrots and turnips. Cut the carrots lengthwise and turnips in small cubes. Set aside.

Grate the ginger and garlic.

* Step 3

In a wok heat mustard oil until smoking hot. Switch off the gas and add grated ginger and garlic and light the gas. Stir for 30 seconds.

Add the ginger and garlic paste and cook for 7-8 mins. Add the jaggery powder mixed with Malt vinegar.

Add garam masala powder, mustard powder and red chilli powder, add salt. Mix well. Add the carrots and turnip and mix gently. Switch off the flame. Set aside to cool

Add to air-tight container and enjoy.
