Tofu and Tomato salad

Tofu and Tomato salad

I saw several versions of this salad. It's getting common home cooking in Japan. They sometimes called "Tofu Caprese"😆. You can use olive oil and basil, sesame oil and shiso, or like this. My daughter loves sesame oil and tofu, so this is a staple to us🙂

Ingredient

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Coat the tofu with salt.

* Step 2

Wrap the tofu with paper towel, press it under weight to drain. I use a stoneware bowl. Sit in fridge half day/overnight.

* Step 3

Slice the tofu and a tomato in bite size pieces. Arrange them on a platter in an alternating pattern.

* Step 4

Scatter chopped coriander leaves over the tofu and tomato. Sprinkle with several grinds of pepper, drizzle sesame oil over them. Serve immediately.
