Slow Cooker French Onion Pot Roast

With mashed potatoes and green beans or peas I made this into a freezer meal but you can skip that just cook it and add everything to the slow cooker instead of a zip lock bag. This should stay good in the freezer for 3 mo . If meats on sale stock up and make some freezer meals.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Thinly slice the onion and add to a large zipper bag.

* Step 2

Add all 1 red onion thinly sliced 2 lb beef chuck roast salt and pepper to taste 1/4 C tomato sauce 1 T minced garlic 1/4 t dried thyme 1 T Worcestershire sauce 1 T white wine vinegar To zipper bag

* Step 3

Zip to seal and shake well to mix. Mark bag with name of recipe and date freeze in freezer for a freezer meal. Can make multiple one if meat is on sale,

* Step 4

Skip the freezer if not making a freezer meal add to slow cooker the first 9 ingredients

* Step 5

Do this the last 30 mins before done Mix together cornstarch and water. Add to slow cooker and cook for another 15 minutes (until gravy thickens).

Cook mashed potatoes and green beans according to package directions.

* Step 7

Serve pot roast with gravy over a bed of mashed potatoes with a sprinkle of fresh parsley. Green beans on the side.
