* Step 1

Roast the vermicelli. Arrange and assemble the ingredients.

Heat oil, allow to crackle ponch phutan,add dry red chilli, asafoetida and both the daals. Fry on low flame till golden brown.

Add curry leaves, shallots, green chilli. Cook till shallots are soft.

Then Add chopped tomatoes and carrot and salt. Cook till half done.

Now add water, Samba masala powder, chopped mango ginger. After boiling of water, add and roasted vermicelli and cook on low flame. Add the lemon juice and mix nicely.

Vermicelli absorbs water and the Upma is ready to serve as such or with chutney and sev.

#SR One of my favourite breakfasts is onion tomato sooji upma. Easy to prepare and delicious to savour.

Ingredient

1/2 Tsp

urad daal

1/3 Tsp

lemon juice

1 pinch

Asafoetida

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Arrange and assemble ingredients first. Heat oil and splutter cumin and mustard seeds.

* Step 2

Add curry leaves, dry red chilli and chopped onions. Fry till rawness goes from onion.

* Step 3

Now add seeds, tomatoes, green chilli, asafoetida and salt. Mix the chopped mango ginger and all on low flame.

* Step 4

Next add water and allow it to boil. Pour roasted semolina little by little(on low flame) and mix continuously to avoid lumps formation. Add lemon juice and mix well

Semolina absorbs the water. Soft Upma is ready to serve as such.

cumin seeds

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Take kodo flour in a bowl, add curd, water, and make the batter. Rest for 15 minutes.

Then add all dry powder ingredients to the kodo flour batter and mix well. Now the batter is ready.

Next add chopped chilli, mango ginger and fresh mint leaves chopped. Mix well everything.

On hot pan smear ghee. Take a ladle of batter and spread the chilla. Load both the sides. Serve with coriander leaves chutney and fresh masala curd.

* Step 1

Arrange the ingredients. Heat oil and add curry leaves. Roast on low flame till crispy and aromatic. Add also red chilli powder, turmeric powder and rock salt/sendha namak. Mix well and add Murmura. Roast till crispy.

Bring down the pot from the flame, add all ingredients, mix well and lastly add the chopped mango ginger. Now the masala murmura is ready to serve.

raw rice

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash the daal. Soak in sufficient water for two hours along with raw rice. Grind to paste with little water. Rest the batter for 30 minutes.

Mix onion, mango ginger, chopped chilli, salt, turmeric, ajwain and cumin seeds to the batter.

Prepare vada as the size one likes. Deep fry both sides. Serve with Aloodum and Tomato chutney.
