Ingredient

sugar

2 teaspoon

cardamom powder

1/4 teaspoon

saffron strands

1 tablespoon

milk

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

First sieve the gram flour.Then warm up 1 tablespoon milk & 1 tablespoon ghee untill the ghee melts.

* Step 2

Now mix the ghee & milk mixture with the gram flour little by little & mix everything well by using your finger & palm. After mixing for 5-7 minutes you will see little crumbles in the gram flour. We are looking for that texture only.It will make Mohanthal more tasty. Once the crumbles appear, cover the gram flour mixture & keep it aside.

* Step 3

Now make the sugar syrup. First add the 2 cups of sugar syrup with 2 cups of water then mix & let it boil until we are getting a one string thick syrup. Once the syrup gets thicken add saffron strands & 1 teaspoon cardamom powder to the syrup. Switch off flame & keep the syrup aside.

* Step 4

Now warm up the ghee on a pan. Then add the gram flour to it. Mix thoroughly with a spatula until it slightly changes it colour.Keep the flame from low to medium.

Once the colour of the gram flour is little darken add the mawa powder or khoya & stir well.mix everything for a minute or two then switch off the flame & add the prepared syrup to the pan & stir continuously until the mixture absorbs all the sugar syrup.

* Step 6

Transfer it in a pre greased container & level the top with help of a spatula...garnish it with chopped nuts & cardamom powder on the top. Keep it refrigerated for 2 hours.

Now cut it into square size pieces & serve.
