Chicken Tikka

#NonVeg recipe Chicken tikka is one of the most popular Indian dish all over the world. Generally we enjoy this dish o lynch in restaurants. But is very easy and simple to make at home without any tandoor simply on stove top. And it is as tasty and flavorful as restaurant one with smoky flavor.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a bowl take chicken pieces

* Step 2

Add ginger-garlic paste, salt, Kashmiri red chilli powder and lemon juice.

* Step 3

Mix well with hand, cover and keep aside for 1/2 an hour. This is the 1st marinade.

Now make the second marinade.

In a bowl add hung curd, cumin powder, coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, kasuri methi, roasted gram flour, cardamom powder, salt, 1 tsp mustard oil and a pinch of red colour.

With a whisk mix all the spices to the yoghurt very well.

* Step 7

Now pour this mixture to the marinated chicken and mix in such a way that yogurt mixture coats all the chicken pieces evenly.

Add capsicum and onion cubes and mix again to coat the yoghurt mixture.

Cover and keep aside for an hour.

* Step 10

Take some satay sticks and scew the chicken and vegetable pieces alternately.

Heat a non stick pan and grease the pan with little oil.

* Step 12

Keep flame in high heat.

* Step 13

In another stove top keep the charcoal piece. It will be red hot within 5 minutes which means it is ready to use.

Place 2-3 satay sticks to the hot pan and cook in high heat for 2-3 minutes.

Rotate the stick and cook for another minute.

* Step 16

Reduce the heat. Take a heavy bottomed material as shown in the picture to press the chicken pieces so that the chicken cooks from inside also. Do this on each side for 30-40 seconds.

Now chicken is cooked completely.

Take the hot charcoal, keep it in a aluminium sheet and place this on the hot pan.

Take 1/2 tsp of ghee and pour over the hot charcoal.

Immediately cover the pan with a lid and put off the flame.

It will give a smoky flavor to the tikkas.

Keep with lid on for a minute and remove in a serving plate.

Enjoy these delicious tikka with naan or pita bread accompanied by any chutney of your choice.
