Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Boil the dal with salt, turmeric and bay leaf.
* Step 2
Heat oil in kadhai. Add cumin and mustard seeds and wait till they splutter.
* Step 3
Add onion, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves and saute till onions done. Mix tomato puree.
* Step 4
Cook till the puree thickes. Add the black pepper powder. Mix well.
* Step 5
Add the boiled dal and adjust water. Give a good mix and bring to boil.
