Sooji Halwa

Halwa, puri and chane, is a devine combination that is made at my home on the 8th day of Navratri, as ashtami prasad, and today was no exception to that.

Ingredient

Food ration :

2-3 servings

Cooking time :

20 mins
1 cup

sooji

1/2 cup

desi ghee

1.25 cup

water

3/4 cup

sugar

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a pan, first dry roast sooji and then put desi ghee.

Roast the sooji with ghee, till golden brown.

* Step 3

Add sugar to the roasted sooji and mix.

* Step 4

Cook for 2-3 mins on low flame, till the sugar starts to dissolve.

Once the sugar starts to dissolve, add in the water and cardamom powder.

* Step 6

Cook on medium heat for 7-8 mins, till the sooji absorbs all the water. Check for sugar at this step, if it feels less, then adjust according to your taste.

Transfer to a bowl, garnish with dried fruits and rose petals. Serve.
