Sweet potato or shakarkand or ratalu is an ever favourite root vegetable for fasting days. It is rich in energy, carbs, vitamins and satisfies hunger during fasts. I have made Kesari halwa which is also fantastic dessert in Diwali and navratri too. Try out this dessert this diwali instead of regular desserts. Enjoy.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
First, heat 2 tablespoons ghee in a non-stick pan. Add the grated

Now, stir and cook it on low flame for 5 to 8 minutes till aromatic.
* Step 3
Then add milk, milk powder, cardamom powder and stir cook till all the milk is absorbed.
* Step 4
Now add sugar and kesar infused milk and mix well. The mixture will turn soft.
* Step 5
Cook further till it forms a lump. Keep on counter and mix well.
* Step 6
Heat rest of the ghee in a small kadhai. Add the dry fruits and saute for 1 minute.
* Step 7
Add this to the sweet potato halwa, reserving some nuts for garnish. Mix well. Offer this delicious halwa to the goddess before serving.
* Step 8
Then you can serve immediately in serving bowl or decorative plate, garnished with reserved nuts, cherry and enjoy.
