Koraishutir Kochuri (Bengali Peas Puri) with Aloo Dum

#toc3 A very popular breakfast menu of West Bengal specially made during winters, with the fresh tender winter peas and potatoes.

Ingredient

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Take flour in a bowl.Add the salt.Add 1 1/2 tbsp oil.Mix well so that it gets a sand like texture. Now add 1/2 cup of water gradually to the mixture and knead to form a dough.

* Step 2

To make the peas paste,boil the peas and drain the water.Now grind it in the grinder and make a paste.Now heat 2 tbsp oil in a kadai add the peas paste in it.Add ginger paste, roasted cumin powder,red chilli powder, sugar and salt.Cook till the mixture becomes little dry.Remove from heat and keep aside.

* Step 3

To make Aloo Dum, heat oil in a pan.Put cinnamon stick, cardamom pods,bay leaf,asafoetida and stir for 2 minutes. Now add the ginger paste and cook for 2 more minutes.Now add in the tomato puree,turmeric powder,chilli powder,sugar and salt and cook until oil separates.Now add in the potatoes and cook for 5 more minutes.Now pour water as required and cook covered for 20 minutes.
