Mangodi with rice

Mangodi is a comforting and nutritious balanced meal with carbs and proteins and is popular in the states of Uttar Pradesh The UP (Uttar Pradesh) style mangodi is generally made of moong dal, either yellow or green or a mix of both. They are smaller in size and are made using soaking, grinding and then sun drying the mangodi. Ingredient

Food ration :

2 -3 people

Cooking time :

10-15 minutes
1/2 cup

moong vadi

1/2 inch

ginger(grated)

As required

Salt

1 tablespoon

desi ghee

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash peas properly. Heat ghee in a pan and fry moong vadi for couple of minutes.

* Step 2

Now take it off and add all spices in ghee and add ginger, green chilli and tomatoes. Fry for another two minutes.

Now add moong vadi, potatoes and green peas and add water. Mix well add seasoning. Now pressure cooker it for 2-3 vessels. Moong vadi is ready. You can have this with rice or roti.

Moong vadi, rice with green chutney is the perfect combination in winters and I can have this in my lunch everyday.
