Bombay halwa
Bombay halwa/karachi halwa/cornflour halwa a super silky, soft & melt in ur mouth Indian dessert. A dessert which combines just a few basic pantry Ingridents & a pretty straight forward method to come out with an outstanding recipe, perfect for all special occasions.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
In a pan heat water & sugar together
* Step 2
In a bowl mix cornflour, water & rose pink food colour together and mix well until the cornstarch is dissolved
* Step 3
Once the sugar dissolves add lime juice
* Step 4
Slowly pour the cornflour mixture in the sugar syrup and keep stirring on a low flame
* Step 5
The mixture will start to thicken
* Step 6
Once the mixture is thick & sticky start adding the ghee. Add 1tbsp at a time, mix well until cornflour mixture absorb the ghee.add dry fruits
* Step 7
Keep cooking till the ghee is no more absorbed by the halwa
* Step 8
The halwa should look glossy, transparent & does not stick to the pan
* Step 10
Brush the square tin with ghee and add the halwa in it
* Step 11
Garnish with some pistachios
* Step 13
After the halwa is set, use a sharp knife to loosen the edges & transfer the halwa to a plate. Cut it into cubes
* Step 15
Note : The more u cook the halwa the harder will be the texture. So cook the halwa until ur preferred texture
* Step 16
Use a non stick pan so tht the halwa doesn't stick to the bottom.
* Step 17
U can use any colour of ur choice fr halwa (lemon yellow, kesari, green,)
